Valentine's Heartbreaker Shirt Tutorial

Pin It

I know I am a day late.
The fam decided that yesterday was a "lazy" day.
It was nice but now I am excited about sharing this quick tutorial!
Your sweet boy will surely break some hearts...

Once again, you don't have to sew to do this.
All you need are a few items.

Materials:
* Shirt (purchased from Walmart for $3.50)
* Scrap piece of fabric, enough to cut out a heart
* Heavy Duty Wonder Under
* Iron
*Scissors
* Sewing machine (optional)

{As always, you can click on the picture for the big version.}

Gather all your supplies and place in one area.
{I have to do this because of 3 sets of sticky fingers, eh hem..triplets}

Fold a piece of paper in half and draw a half heart.
This is the easiest way to make the perfect heart on both sides.
Cut out.

Place heart on to wonder under, paper side up.
Trace the heart.
Cut out around the heart, leaving a border.

Place heart on to fabric.
Press with the iron.
Cut out on the traced line.

Draw your "break" from the top of the middle of your heart to the bottom.
Cut along the line you drew.
This makes your "heart broken" in to 2 pieces.

Peel off paper from the back of the 2 heart pieces.

Place on your shirt to your liking.
Press with iron.
If you are a non-sewer, this is your last step!

For us sewers, go to your machine and top stitch.
I chose a triple stitch option for this shirt to make
the red thread stand out as well as making it a bit more masculine.

And there you have it!
One HEARTBREAKER shirt for a sweet boy!

I can't wait to put this on my little man.
He is a true heartbreaker already.
