I absolutely LOVE being able to make the kids' teachers special gifts.
I live for it!
Having been a teacher, I appreciate these things more than any coffee mug filled with candy.
There are a couple of blogs I like to read.
One of them is Thirty Handmade Days.
Mique has great ideas for Valentine's gifts.
And I love button projects.
Why?
Because they are very inexpensive but still crafty and cute.

When I came across THIS free printable at Thirty Handmade Days,
I knew this is what I was going to make for all the teachers, aides, and staff.
Tell me you aren't dying from the cuteness?
There are many more ideas out there but this is the one that suited me best.

If you have never worked with buttons, don't worry, it is super easy.
All you need are the parts and a hot glue gun.
Seriously easy.
No sewing involved.
Just pure cuteness!
Let's start with what you will need.
{hot links will take you to where you can purchase}

All my pretty pieces.
You should also be able to find these at Hobby Lobby or another craft store.
Cut out circle of fabric that is the right size for each button.
{most kits come with a circle pattern, I just eyeball mine}
Place the piece of fabric in to the white part of the button kit.
Tuck fabric in to the button.
Place the flat back on top.
Push down using your blue plastic tool to seal flat back in to the button.
{yep, that easy}
From there, you will cut out your card stock printables.
Place to the side to await their cute covered button earrings and bobby pins!
Using your hot glue gun, put a good size dab on the back of the earring.
Place post firmly in to the glue.
I would recommend using a HOT glue gun, not the warm.
Do the same with the bobby pins.
Set aside to dry for a few minutes.
You don't have to have a hole puncher but if you do,
it will make putting the earrings and the bobby pins on the card easier.
If not, just apply a little bit of pressure and the post will poke through.
WAALAA!
All done.
Seriously the easiest project ever.
AND...oh so cheap!
$15.75 for at least 4 complete sets.
Can't beat that, especially since we have 6 teachers and 2 office staff to gift!
{um yes, ours was a bit more since I had to make 8, lol}
And you know the cuteness factore is like a 9 out of 10.
I hope the teachers will love it.
Easy peasy and lots of fun.
Peace out my peeps!
